New York Chapter Judging Policy
Commencing September 1, 2017, the New York Chapter will be instituting a new judging policy. The other 18 chapters across the country, as well as the New York Chapter, have seen a regular increase in submissions. Judging has become an enormous task. We are a member participation-based organization, and we must have your participation. We appreciate our members and their submissions. The new judging requirement is meant to encourage judging participation with special incentives. Details follow.
NEW JUDGING RULES: By entering in the 2018 Call for Entries (taking place from September 1, 2017 through October 13, 2017), you agree to serve as a judge during the September 1, 2017 – August 31, 2018 fiscal year. This is the year of your entry. If you meet the requirements listed below within the fiscal year, then your entry fees will not increase. If you do not meet the requirements below within the fiscal year, the penalty fee is $50 per entry, per name.
- If you enter once, you’ll need to judge once.
- If you enter twice, you’ll need to judge twice.
- If you enter three or more times, you’ll need to judge 3 or more times.
NEW JUDGING INCENTIVE: Regardless of the number of entries you submit, if you judge more than three times, you will receive a $25 credit with the New York Chapter. You can apply that credit to membership renewals, submissions, name additions, gala tickets, and orders.
MEMBERSHIP BONUS: Members who do not participate in the submissions process, but choose to participate in the judging process, will earn a $10 discount on membership dues for the coming year if they judge 3 or more times. There is no limit to the amount of judging you can do, as long as you’re qualified to judge the categories you choose.
