SPECIAL CONCERT

“An Evening of Shakespeare Songs”
 
Please join us for this one-hour concert of original music by Donna Stearns set to Shakespeare’s text from “Twelfth Night,” “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” “The Two Noble Kinsmen,” “Measure for Measure,” “Othello,” “Cymbeline,” “King Henry VIII,” and “Antony and Cleopatra” as well as songs from Stearns’ musical farce “All The World’s A Stage” based on “As You Like It.” Donna will be at the keyboard to accompany six wonderful singers, and you’ll hear favorite passages and poems sung in a variety of musical styles ranging from suggested art song to contemporary pop, Broadway and Jazz. Special Guest Performance by Broadway’s Brandon Wardell.
 
About Donna Stearns: Awards and distinctions include an Honorable Mention from the 9th Annual Billboard Song Contest for “First Dance” – which was also an entry in the 1st Round of the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards Nominating Ballot (for Best R&B Song of the Year). Her musical “All The World’s A Stage” was a Best of Fest winner at The 3rd Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival.  She was the composer for “Twelfth Night” at The Merry Month of May Festival (in 2006), featuring Broadway’s Brandon Wardell as Feste and directed by James Alexander Bond.  Most recently her song “Up, Up, Up in the Sky” was one of only eleven songs chosen worldwide to represent The International Year of Astronomy. www.DonnaStearns.com
