Potiche reunites French cinema legends Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Depardieu in an ensemble cast that includes comic greats Fabrice Luchini (as Deneuve's husband) and Karin Viard (as her husband's secretary/mistress).
 
Potiche was selected for the 2010 Venice and Toronto Film Festivals, has been nominated for four Cesars (France's equivalent of the Academy Awards) for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Costume Design.
 
Written and Directed by Francois Ozon (who previously directed Ms. Deneuve in the international hit 8 Women and also directed Swimming Pool, Under the Sand, and Time to Leave)
Adapted from the play by Pierre Barillet and Jean-Pierre Gredy

Synopsis: Set in 1977 in a provincial French town, Potiche is a free adaptation of the 1970s eponymous hit comic play. Catherine Deneuve is Suzanne Pujol, a submissive, house-bound "trophy wife" (or "potiche") who steps in to manage her wealthy and tyrannical husband (Fabrice Luchini)'s umbrella factory after the workers go on strike and take him hostage. Gerard Depardieu plays a former union leader and Suzanne's ex-beau who still holds a flame for her.

Potiche will be released by Music Box FIlms on March 25, 2011.
