The Foundation of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter is a Not-for-Profit Corporation, dedicated to conducting activities which are exclusively charitable, literary, and educational in order to cultivate and encourage interest in the arts and sciences of television. We promote and encourage talent and ability in the composition, creation and performance of works for television.

The Foundation was reinvigorated in 2003 thanks to a generous gift from the estate of Rosalind Black Begman, actress and New York Chapter member from 1973 until her death in July 2003. The Foundation grants scholarships in her name to graduate students in documentary production at universities located within the geographic area of the New York Chapter.  Recent grants to complete their thesis projects have been made to students at New York University, Columbia University and CUNY.  From 2005 to 2007, thanks to his generous donation, the Foundation also granted the Maury Povich Scholarship for undergraduate media majors.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors and Officers entirely separate from that of the New York Chapter.
