TOPIC: "What's so Riche about Niche? A discussion on the relevancy of niche networks in an age of integration."

America is increasingly becoming the melting pot that many civil rights activists dreamed about back in the 60s. Integrated schools. Integrated workplaces. Interracial dating is on the rise. This year mixed-race kids (under 18) make up the fastest-growing segment of the population. And in spite of many staunch opponents, there appears to be a trend towards greater acceptance of gay marriage. So why do we need networks like TV One and Logo?

An exploration of this question using networks like TV One as a model.

TV One is a basic cable network available in 48 million homes offering a broad range of lifestyle and entertainment programming primarily to African American adults.
