 died in 2013, told him about the Marshall case and suggested he write abou
 t it for the screen. Koskoff wrote several early drafts and eventually per
 suaded his son to team up with him on the project, which then led to the i
 nterest of producer Paula Wagner and then director Reginald Hudlin. The bl
