Wooten has rewritten &quot\;Purple&quot\; four times. First it was a scre
enplay with a large cast and numerous locations from Boston to South Carol
ina. After hearing it read by professional actors as part of our Playreadi
ng series hosted by Arlene Dahl, he decided to turn it into a play with a
slightly smaller but still quite large cast and several sets, visuals and
rear projections. After hearing version two read as part of our series, he
decided to turn it into a four-character, one-set play -- using the two m
ain couples as the cast -- although their motives and characteristics chan
ged of their own volition along the way, and &quot\;Purple&quot\; became &
quot\;The Sticks.&quot\; Professional actors will read version four, still
titled &quot\;The Sticks&quot\; on Monday August 9th. The same two couple
s make up the cast but different actors will be needed because almost ever
ything else has again changed. For August 9th Playreading reservations, pl
