n	\n Blau Jeans is an award-winning documentary that takes a rare look at
the influence of American pop culture in the Capital city of Berlin and G
ermany&rsquo\;s love-hate relationship for all things American. This one-h
our documentary covers from Post War Germany, East and West, to the dynami
c Germany of today. Renowned journalists artists, filmmakers, scholars in
cluding Richard Bernstein, Berlin Bureau Chief, The New York Times candidl
y discuss their first contact with America and how it continues to shape t
heir lives. &quot\;From Hip-Hop to Google, Star Wars&quot\; to George W.
Bush, a fascinating picture emerges of a country whose battles have becom
e internal, with one side revering America&#39\;s generosity and innovatio
n and the other disdaining its arrogance and superficiality. The striking
soundtrack features German acclaimed BMG electronic artists 2raumwohnung
and Universal Classic Music oboist Albrecht Mayer accompanied by the Berli
n Philharmonic. Blau Jeans is a vivid, entertaining, and provocative look
at how one country views the nation that can be loved or hated, but never
 ignored.\n	\n \n \n	\n Statement of Director on Film:\n	\n &ldquo\;Whe
n I started Blau Jeans, I began it as a cultural documentary to see how Am
erican culture had an effect on the European and German psyche, in their l
ives growing up with movies and songs. And that led me to this big cloud o
f anti-Americanism. I discovered why they love us and why they hate us. Th
ere are certain characteristics that have come to be known as &#39\;Americ
an&#39\; that Germans in Blau Jeans really articulate. Some are wonderful
virtues and others are not so nice.&rdquo\;\n	\n \n \n	\n About the Fil
