 y journalist/reporter Eric Sevareid narrates the following three programs 
 which illuminate how countless stars such as The Andrews Sisters, Glenn Mi
 ller, Abbot &amp\; Costello, Frank Sinatra, and Bob Hope all pitched in fo
 r the war effort.  Each of the programs is thirty minutes long.\n1) HOLLYW
 OOD GOES TO WAR: The American government enlists the extensive skills of H
 ollywood filmmakers, Tin Pan Alley musicians and Madison Avenue advertisin
 g agencies to produce propaganda for domestic consumption. Hitler and his 
 cohorts are depicted as diabolical villains and comic fools.\n \n2) THANKS
  FOR THE MEMORIES: American show business gears up in an effort to prove t
 hat Americans solidly support our troops. Scenes at the Hollywood Canteen 
 and other service clubs show ordinary American enlisted men honored and re
 vered by stars and the public. Dinah Shore leads tours of the Hollywood Ca
 nteen while Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra team up in an informal duet to s
 ell war bonds.\n \n3) ACCENTUATING THE POSITIVE: Hollywood goes overseas t
 o put on shows for troops in the war zones. Stars like Bob Hope, Frances L
 angford, Jerry Colona, Joe E. Brown and Marlene Dietrich stage elaborate e
 vents for servicemen. Armed Forces Radio carries American swing music, new
 s and pop culture around the world. V-mail and special radio broadcasts re
 corded on V-discs bring the home front to the war front.\n \nHarvey Cherto
 k is the President of Quartet International, Inc., a worldwide production 
 and distribution company\; currently Scholarship &amp\; Education Co-Chair
  for the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts And S
 ciences (NY NATAS)\; and an instructor for his &#8220\;The Business Of Tel
 evision&#8221\; seminars at NYU, Queens College and other schools. Also, h
 e has served several terms as a National Trustee and as a member of the NY
  NATAS Board of Governors. Mr. Chertok has been an advertising/marketing e
 xecutive for Time Warner and has produced three movies: &#8220\;The Imposs
 ible Spy&#8221\; (John Shea, Eli Wallach) with BBC-TV for HBO, now on DVD\
 ; &#8220\;The Great Charlie Chan&#8221\; for Warner Bros.\; and &#8220\;7 
 Surprises&#8221\; with The National Film Board of Canada. Other production
  credits include such programs as &#8220\;Hermitage Masterpieces,&#8221\; 
 an extraordinary 9 hour art history series seen on PBS, and also now on DV
