 ; Patti Stotter\n\n&ldquo\;SERVICE: When Women Come Marching Home&rdquo\;
 \n\nDate: Thursday, November 13, 2014\n\nLocation: NY NATAS, 1375 Broadway
  (between 37th and 38th Streets), Suite 2103\n\nReception: 6:00-6:30 PM ~
Program: 6:30-8:00 PM\n\n \n\n*Free to NY NATAS Members!\n\n$15 for those
without current NY NATAS membership.\n\n \n\nProduced &amp\; Moderated by
Sumner Jules Glimcher.\n\nSERVICE: WHEN WOMEN COME MARCHING HOME portrays
 the courage of the women in service and once they have left the military\;
the horrific traumas they faced, the inadequate care they often receive o
n return and the large and small accomplishments the women work mightily t
o achieve. Through compelling portraits, we watch these women wrestle with
prosthetics, homelessness, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Military Se
xual Trauma. The power of this multi-platform documentary is in the intima
cy we establish with our veterans, speaking with them in their kitchens an
d bathrooms, back yards, classrooms, therapy sessions and supermarkets. T
he film was screened on the hill by DAV and hosted by Senator Patty Murray
and other women legislators and has been broadcast by PBS and is on many
affiliates last year and again this year . The film is part of a multi-
platform documentary format which continues to support women veterans, sha
re information and debate relevant issues on its social networking platfor
ms. In order to be true to the film, the &quot\;director&#39\;s statemen
t&quot\; is the story of two women who met working on a film about women i
n Africa. The composer, Patricia Lee Stotter, had started working with vet
erans on a variety of projects, and the director, Marcia Rock, became inte
rested in disability issues through her friend Simi Linton, author of My B
ody Politic. They were talking about whether the US was ready for all the
vets disabled by IED explosions. Stotter was the first of the team to pene
trate the veteran world. After she was, literally, vetted by the vets, she
approached Marcia Rock about creating a film and cross platform project a
bout disabled veterans whose transition from active duty had been eased wi
th the help of service dogs. We, and this has been a joined at the hip ven
ture, felt the social networking had to be as much a part of this project
as the film-making. We immediately set up a FB group and website http://se
rvicethefilm.com so we could network with vets. Women in the film and in
our social networks have testified on the hill, and one was recently made
the first woman member of the Atlanta Commission of Veteran Affairs. The g
rass roots of SERVICE continue to grow across the entire country. Our film
has just won the NATAS 2014 Emmy Award for Military Programs. The filmma
kers are thrilled to share the film with the NATAS community.\n\nMarcia Ro
ck has produced documentaries since 1984 and received many awards includin
g three local Emmys. Her work covers women&rsquo\;s issues as well as pers
onal perspectives. She recently completed two films on veterans about the
ir struggle with PTSD and this film about women veterans&rsquo\; transitio
n from active duty to civilian life. \n\nPatricia Lee Stotter is a multip
 le Emmy Awarding-winning composer/ producer/writer for television, film, t
heater and interactive/social media. In addition to co-producing the Emmy
award winning multiplatform documentary Service: When Women Come Marching
Home, she has composed scores for many documentaries.\n\nSpace is limited
