n$15 for those without current membership\n \nBoy Interrupted, an HBO Docu
mentary Film, is a clear-eyed look at every parent’s worst nightmare. On
the night of October 2, 2005, Evan Scott Perry jumped to his death from h
is New York City bedroom window. He was fifteen years old. He left behind
his heartbroken parents, filmmakers Dana and Hart Perry, as well as his be
loved brothers, Michael and Nicholas, and many young friends. Boy Interrup
ted is the story of Evan’s struggle with bi-polar illness, his life and
death, and the emotional aftermath of his family’s experience. Interview
s with family, friends, doctors, teachers and therapists form the narrativ
e spine of the documentary. Evan’s childhood was closely documented by h
is parents, literally from the moment he was born. These “home-movies,
” seemingly so casual and innocuous before his death, provide a visual r
ecord of his development over the years and help to create an intimate por
trait of this vibrant, troubled young man. This film represents an essenti
al human story: birth, love, loss, grief and the pursuit of redemption. Ev
an had enormous influence on everyone he touched.\n \nDana Perry has been
