 With technology constantly advancing and “television” taking on new forms, industry leaders Jim Turner, and Chris Pizzurro help navigate the oncoming changes as they explain what to expect in the future of television.

Chris Pizzurro has over 28 years’ experience in national media strategy, marketing, and implementation, with a focus on traditional TV and digital media advertising. He is currently Head of Business Development, Sales & Marketing at Canoe, an advertising technology company focused on stewarding dynamically inserted advertising to national TV network programs available on MVPDs’ VOD platforms. Prior to Canoe, he was a Principal at Leap Media Group, an advertising consultancy specializing in advanced TV advertising. Before Leap, Pizzurro spent 13 years at Turner Broadcasting effectively growing global digital revenue from advertising clients. He has received an Emmy® Award nomination, a Webby® Award nomination, as well as being a CableFAX Innovation Award recipient, an iTVt Leadership Award beneficiary, and TVOT All-Star Award winner. He is also a Vice President of the National Academy of Television Art & Sciences/NY Chapter.

 

 

Jim Turner is a recognized leader in digital media, television/over-the-top TV and advanced advertising. He is currently providing consulting and advisory services for major companies in the converging space of video, television, advertising, data and consumer technology as EVP Advisory Services and Solutions at Palmer Advanced Media.

Prior to Palmer Advanced Media, Jim was CRO/SVP of Market Development for Net2TV, an OTT services startup, and SVP, Product Management/Strategy and Business Development for Canoe Ventures, the joint venture of the six largest cable companies focused on advancing television technology in iTV, VOD, and data.

Previously in his career, Jim held executive roles at A+E Networks, Synacor, Women.com Networks, Kurzweil Music and CBS as well as co-founding three startups in advanced media.

Jim has an MBA in Marketing, and Masters and Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering. He is active in a number of industry organizations including the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences where he is NY Chapter Governor, First Vice President and National Trustee Alternate as well as the Television Academy Interactive Media Peer Group.

He holds two patents for the use of computers in music.
