What happened at the last Midmorning Exchange on 10/20/2010:

Wednesday 10/20/2010 was an exceptional date – not only because of the order of its numbers (1020/2010). From before 9:30 in the morning until well after half-past-eleven, a small group of NY NATAS members (Al Primo, creator of “Eyewitness News,” and NY NATAS treasurer Chris Pizzurro among them) had the rare privilege of seeing and hearing Pat Cooper, the king of comedy that almost no longer exists. He was funny – two hours of continuous laughing funny – no nastiness or sarcasm, no gratuitous 4 or 5 letter words or sexual innuendo, but a kind of gentle sadness underneath the spontaneous laughter. Pat, born Pasquale Caputo, will be 82 years old next July. He comes from the world of Dean Martin, George Burns, Milton Berle and Henry Youngman – with the energy of a 25-year-old which was his age at the time he was the opening act for Frank Sinatra. Steve Garrin, producer and co-author of Pat’s just-released autobiography “How Dare You Say How Dare Me,” added comments and support.
