FILM PREMIERE: PRIDE

Members and one adult guest are invited to the New York PREMIERE of PRIDE from CBS Films. The film won the Queer Palm Award at Cannes.  All tickets are numbered by the row and by the individual seat number and will be pre assigned by the distributor.

This invitation is non-transferable.

Please send an email to Phyllis Bishop at pbscreenings@gmail.com with the following information: Your Membership Card Number and state if you are coming alone or bringing one guest.  You must receive and answer a response from Phyllis, to attend these screenings. 

Screening Date: Monday, September 15th    

Arrival Time:  6:00 p.m. for 7 p.m. screening

Please join the line along the side of the cinema.  Everyone must go through the electronic front doors operated by security.  You will be directed to check in at the Screening Desk in the lobby with Phyllis Bishop.

Screenplay: Stephen Beresford.  An Actor/ Writer  known for Where There's Smoke (2000), That Thing You Drew (2010) and She Stoops to Conquer (2003).

Producers: David Livingstone with Cameron McCracken, Christine Langan and Natascha Wharton serving as Executive Producers. 

Stars: Bill Nighy (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Imelda Staunton (Maleficent), Dominic West (The Hour), Paddy Considine (Submarine), Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Joseph Gilgun (Lockout), George MacKay (How I Live Now) and Ben Schnetzer (Warcraft).

Synopsis: PRIDE is inspired by an extraordinary true story.  It’s the summer of 1984, Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers is on strike, prompting a London-based group of gay and lesbian activists to raise money to support the strikers’ families.  Initially rebuffed by the Union, the group identifies a tiny mining village in Wales and sets off to make their donation in person.  As the strike drags on, the two groups discover that standing together makes for the strongest union of all.
