Where did the Advanced Media Categories go? Plain and simple, they are not needed. Separate categories for Advanced Media create an artificial distinction-a distinction that has little relevance in today's broadcast environment. It does not matter if a story is broadcast, cablecast or webcast if the story is of Emmy Award quality. The long and the short of it is that all of the categories are now open to Advanced Media entries. News - Programming - Sports - Promotions - Individual Craft - there are many more options to choose from. What is the eligibility period for the 2012 New York Emmy Awards? For any entry designated as a SERIES, a minimum of two segments must be included. A maximum of three edits are permitted to bring longer programs to the stated entry time limits. No entry may be submitted in more than ONE programming category. Our Call for Entries season is now OPEN and closes Friday September 30, 2011. Entries will be accepted on DVD-R format (DVD minus-R). This year two (2) DVDs must be submitted for each entry to facilitate the judging process. Each entry must be on a separate DVD. All DVDs must be clearly marked. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions and Standard Clauses for additional details on DVD preparation. Entry Fee Structure: If you are a member in good standing with NY NATAS through the Emmy Awards process (December 31, 2011), each submission is $125 - a savings of $100 compared to the non-member fee of $225 per entry. The presentation of these awards is intended to be an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence for those working in the television industryand to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment, news and informational achievements in television.
